Our suite of specialist labs are dedicated to specific types of research and/or specific pieces of equipment. The use of many of these labs is restricted to those who have received appropriate training. Students, please speak to your module leader or project supervisor and ask them to make you known to us before you attempt to book a lab to use any specialist equipment.
If you wish for any extra resources in the room, please book those well in advance with the Psychology Technicians. (Each room has a list of features that can be seen when booking the room).
How to make a booking:
1. Select your start time on the grid.
2. Choose the duration of your session using the dropdown menu below.
3. Submit and fill out form.
Please note - we have noticed a number of instances recently of people trying to book specialist labs for purposes other than their intended use. While we appreciate that during peak times it might be difficult to book a cubicle, it is not appropriate to try to book specialist labs for non-specialist purposes, even if the lab appears to be available on the system. The reasons for this include:
-
You will likely not have been trained in the safe use of these labs, and the labs have not been risk assessed for any use other than their intended purpose. Therefore you, your participant and the equipment in the lab may be exposed to hazards you are not aware of.
-
The specialist labs aren't equipped in the same same way as the cubicles, they don't have experimental PCs and monitors of the same specification.
